The Myriad Collective was founded by Rebecca Hitch. It was formed to combine her years of professional experience with her own lived experiences, in order to support individuals and families so that they can thrive and not just survive. It is motivated by a deep passion for the differences in all of us to be valued - by both society and ourselves. This stems from her work and from her experience of living within, and parenting, a very neurodiverse family. She absolutely understands what it is like - in all its beauty and its challenges.
Rebecca combines her years of clinical experience with a desire to create provision that is warm, creative and full of humanity. That 'clinical' does not mean 'sterile'. And that one approach does not fit everyone. She specialises particularly in working with, and advocating for, neurodivergent people. And also with those struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, burnout and self harm - who maybe are struggling to access life and want to figure out a way through.
Rebecca holds degrees in Psychology (BSc); Music (BA Hons) & Music Psychotherapy (MA Arts). She has well over a decade of experience working both in Education, the NHS, and private clinical practice. She is also a Supervisor for Roehampton University students and practicing therapists. She has years of experience working in child and adolescent mental health and neurodivergence - and enjoys working across the age ranges, supporting adults and parents without judgement, and with tonnes of curiosity and care. She is interested in the whole person, not the quick fix.
Her specialist interests in clinical practice include neurodivergence (particularly late diagnosed teens and women); eating disorders; the overlap between not knowing that you're autistic and the tricky coping strategies that can develop as a result; supporting parents of neurodivergent young people - especially those not accessing school; and giftedness.
She is registered with the HCPC and BAMT; and holds up to date Enhanced DBS and Safeguarding Training.
She is also a keen musician and creative; geeky gardener; and passionate tea drinker.
Rebecca's original training, nearly two decades ago, was within the Arts Psychotherapies - specialising in Music Therapy. Since then she has developed her approach, and trained in many broader fields, so she works now as an Integrative Psychotherapist. This means that she realises that having a 'tool-kit' of approaches is essential, because no one way fits every person - especially if neurodivergent. Rebecca is informed across a range of approaches including psychodynamic; person-centered; CBT-ED; IFS; CFT; Polyvagal; creative etc.
Above all, her approach is neuro-affirmative, which means she works in alignment with each person's mind and way of experiencing the world, rather than against it. This is so important, particularly for autistic and adhd folks. It is also what she loves doing more than anything.
Further training and development includes:
Polvagal Theory CPD (Pesi, 2024)
Internal Family Systems CPD (BTP, 2024)
CBT-ED (Maudseley MCCAED CPD, 2022)
CFT-ED (Compassion Focussed Therapy for Eating Disorders, 2022)
Body Image Training (2022)
Developmental Trauma in Children & Families (Beacon House, 2020)
