Hello. Perhaps you’re here because there are things that you’re struggling with in life, and you yourself are looking for some support, some space to figure it out. Perhaps you’re here because someone in your family is pushing you towards this. Perhaps you’re here because you’ve seen lots of different professionals and maybe been given lots of labels, and nothing has quite felt right. Whatever it is, we know that all of that is really difficult - difficult but not hopeless. Our experience is that therapy can be something that doesn’t have to feel clinical and lacking warmth; but freeing and helpful. Therapy has to be something that you want for yourself. Something you choose so that you can understand yourself better, and begin to figure out what is going on and who you really are.
I know starting new things, and meeting new people can be scary - especially when you are going to talk about really personal things. But there is no pressure, and part of the process is to find out what is helpful for you e.g. how do you like your environment? The lights, the noise, the smells etc? Do you like listening to music; sitting opposite or next to people; what environments do you feel most comfortable in, and how can we help to create that so that you feel ok? And what do you hope to gain? We work by talking about things and also creatively - so if you find talking tricky, we can find other ways.
